It
was my great fortune to gain my professional woodworking training
through the College of the Redwoods
Fine Woodworking Program, established by renowned furniture maker, James
Krenov,
in the northern California town of Ft. Bragg. Upon
graduating in May, 2004, I returned to my home
and family in Keswick, Virginia, where I opened my furniture studio in
June, 2005.
In
July, 2008, I became a juried member of the Artisans Center
of Virginia,
attaining recognition as a "Virginia Professional Artisan".
The
Artisans Center is the state-wide artisans organization which
recognizes and promotes excellence in craft throughout Virginia.
I am a
participating member of Central Virginia's juried, annual Artisans Studio Tour
and served as its Director for the 2010 and 2011 Tours. In addition, I have
served as an adjunct faculty member of the Piedmont Virginia Community
College, teaching classes in furniture making.
You may read
about my furniture making ethic in the Design
section of my web site.
