Pictured here is one of two Shaker style table and bench sets which I built for clients wishing to seat up to sixteen guests at family gatherings. When not in use, both tables sit end-to-end against one wall, with a little maneuvering room between and the benches stored underneath. So, the length of the wall determined the overall combined lengths of the tables! The table and bench stretchers have wedged mortise-and-tenons, and the table leg tenons are pegged into the feet mortises with solid oak pegs. Built in red oak with oil and varnish finish and wax. |
