With its shallow drawers and shelves, this case piece allows easy access to sheet music. The drawers and doors gently curve inward to the maple interior. The case exterior is veneered in yellow canary wood, sawn and applied by me. Shop-sawn veneer is much thicker and richer than the paper-thin veneers so often found on factory produced furniture. The legs and rails are of moabi. Drawers are dovetailed, with handcrafted pulls and brass hinges. Finish is shellac and wax. |
